Recurrent Training

Maintaining instrument currency is essential for instrument-rated pilots. If you have not maintained your instrument currency, you must complete an Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC) according to FAR § 61.57 (d). Our flight instructors are trained and qualified in all instrument flying procedures, including classical versions and those utilizing newer technology. We offer IPC training to help you brush up on your skills and get the most out of the avionics in your aircraft. Prior to your IPC training, we recommend completing our Instrument Proficiency Written Evaluation. This evaluation will help both you and your instructor evaluate your current instrument flying knowledge level and tailor the IPC training to your specific needs. Completing this evaluation takes about an hour but saves time with your instructor and helps you complete the IPC training in the least amount of time.

Colorado Flight Center offers model-specific initial and recurrent training programs that meet aircraft insurance company requirements for approved pilots. We have specific programs for our fleet of aircraft, including Cessna 172, Cessna 172RG, Cessna 182, and Piper Seminole aircraft. We also have specific programs for other aircraft models such as Cessna 210 Series (210, T210, and P210), Cessna 206, Cirrus models SR-20 and SR-22, Cessna Corvalis (previously Columbia) aircraft, and many others. If you don’t see your aircraft listed here, please Contact Us. We will help you find an instructor with experience in your aircraft make and model.

Accelerated Programs

Our accelerated program, which consists of two-a-day, 4-hour sessions, 5 or 6 days per week can enable you to achieve your Private Pilot certification in as little as one month.  If you already have some flight training in your logbook, it is not wasted as all of it counts.

Our focus is on helping you complete all of the specific requirements needed to earn a Private Pilot Certificate such as cross-country instruction, solo flying, night and instrument training, airborne and ground reference maneuvers proficiency, and so forth, along with building both the knowledge and airmanship skills necessary to become a competent and confident VFR pilot.
