Our biannual flight review course ensures pilots maintain peak proficiency and safety standards, and provides them with recurrent training, allowing them to confidently take to the skies again.

DESCRIPTION

The biannual flight review course is a comprehensive program designed to assess and enhance pilots' skills, knowledge, and safety practices. This course covers a wide range of topics including flight maneuvers, regulations, emergency procedures, and aviation best practices. Through a combination of classroom instruction, simulator exercises, and in-flight training, pilots undergo thorough evaluation and receive personalized feedback to improve their flying abilities. This recurrent training ensures that pilots remain current, competent, and confident in their abilities to safely operate aircraft. Training can be done in one of our aircraft, or your own!

TRAINING CURRICULUM 

The biannual flight review is structured to cover various essential aspects of piloting skills and knowledge. It typically includes:

  • Regulatory Updates: Review of any recent changes or updates to aviation regulations and procedures.

  • Aircraft Systems: Detailed study of the aircraft's systems, including controls, instruments, and emergency equipment.

  • Flight Maneuvers: Practice and refinement of essential flight maneuvers such as takeoffs, landings, stalls, steep turns, and emergency procedures.

  • Navigation: Instruction on navigation techniques including pilotage, dead reckoning, and the use of electronic navigation aids.

  • Weather: Analysis of weather patterns, interpretation of weather reports and forecasts, and decision-making regarding weather-related flight considerations.

  • Emergency Procedures: Training on handling various in-flight emergencies such as engine failures, equipment malfunctions, and adverse weather conditions.

  • Risk Management: Evaluation of potential risks associated with flight operations and strategies for mitigating those risks.

  • Crew Resource Management (CRM): Instruction on effective communication and decision-making within the cockpit environment, emphasizing teamwork and situational awareness.

  • Regulatory Requirements: Assessment of pilot's knowledge and adherence to regulatory requirements for flight operations.

  • Flight Review Evaluation: Practical evaluation of the pilot's proficiency in executing various maneuvers and procedures, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.

  • Feedback and Debriefing: Detailed feedback and debriefing sessions to review performance, identify areas for improvement, and set goals for future training.

  • Scenario-based Training: Simulation of real-world scenarios to test pilot decision-making and problem-solving abilities in challenging situations.

 

By covering these areas comprehensively, the biannual flight review ensures that pilots receive thorough training and evaluation, enabling them to maintain high levels of proficiency and safety in their flying endeavors.

 

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Driver’s License 

  • Proof of Citizenship (or approved FTSP application) 

  • FAA Medical Certificate

  • Pilot's Certificate

MINIMUM COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS

  • FAA-required minimum of at least 1 hour of ground and 1 hour of flight instruction

  • Train to proficiency according to the instructor
