Event Calendar

FAA Safety TeamThe Flight Center hosts a variety of flying activities to meet your interests and schedules, including safety seminars and WINGS programs on a monthly basis. We are also sponsoring fly-out events to great destinations as often as possible. Call us for more details on these scheduled events or to book space, where applicable. Also, we welcome your suggestions for programs you'd like to hear or destinations you'd like to visit!

All “Flying After Hours” programs are free of charge and qualify as FAA “Wings” Safety Programs under the jurisdiction of the FAA Safety Team. Take advantage of the fly-outs to knock the dust off your flying skills; if the rust has gotten too thick, take your instructor along!

Here's a list of our scheduled events for the next few months.

MARCH
  • Friday, March 12th through Friday, March 19th - Mexico Flyout: Whale Watching - Join us for some sun, fun, and whale watching on Mexico's Baja Peninsula.  We'll gather first in Tucson, Arizona, then fly south to Mulegé and Punta Pescadero on the Baja, then wrap up with two nights in Alamos on the mainland for this week-long Mexican sampler.  This is a great way to spread your wings, pet some whales, soak up the Mexican sunshine and enjoy the camaraderie of group flying.  Download the full itinerary for details; plus click here for a map of where we'll fly.  Fill out the registration form and return it to us by January 15, 2010.
APRIL

  • Thursday, April 15th - "Be a Pilot" Seminar - Have you ever dreamed of getting your pilot’s license? Whether you are considering becoming a career pilot or simply want to pursue the most exciting hobby in the world, this class will help you pursue that dream.  Why learn to fly? How about to give yourself the world’s best view?  And that’s just for starters.  Personal aviation can be your very own time machine, taking you places in much less time—and with far fewer headaches—than other modes of transportation.  For some pilots, it’s more about the fun than the practicality.  Flying is one of the most challenging activities you’ll ever experience, and that’s what makes it so rewarding.  This class will answer your questions about learing to become a pilot. Location: Colorado Flight Center Cost: Free

MAY

  • Friday, May 7th through Sunday, May 9th - 4th Annual "Real World IFR" Flyout. Join us for a flyout to southern California where we will  experience the real world of flying in a crowded IFR environment and “hopefully” in some actual IMC.  We will send at least two CFIIs with the group, more if the size of the group warrants it.  The instructors will rotate amongst the aircraft, so everyone will get some dual experience. The CFIIs will also help with flight planning, route selection, and weather interpretation.  The flyout cost ($295) includes the hotel room (twin share) for two nights and the flight instructor/guide services.  Download the registration form and return it to us by April 16th.
